We invite you to interact with the speakers themselves!

OccupyMovie is a unique experience that continues beyond the film.

Click any of the speakers above to learn more about each of them. You’ll read a short bio, a few quotes, and perhaps some of their personal interests. Please leave a comment for one (or all of them). Each speaker visits OccupyMovie.com peridocially as their lives permit, so that they may answer questions and interact with you!

Perhaps you’d like to thank them for their expression. Perhaps you have some insightful questions you’d like to discuss. Perhaps you’d like to introduce them to more information or resources. Occupy is about raising awareness and having discussions.
Group participation is encouraged!

Thank you for joining the OccupyMovie social film experience!

By mid autumn 2011, the Occupy Movement was in full swing. However the major news networks had yet to acknowledge its existence. Soon thereafter the increasing groundswell of Occupiers demanded attention. But when the news networks arrived, they intentionally painted a false portrait. Corporate media stations wanted America to perceive the movement as ineffectual; the interviews they gathered were selectively edited to portray a negative and disorganized assembly. Ann Coulter compared the assemblers to Nazis, as Bill O’Reilly dismissed them as lazy and uneducated.

Nothing could be further from the truth.

Over a single day at Occupy LA, our film crew listened to over 15 random people tell us why they were attending the movement. Everyone who spoke is featured in this film. This is a sampling of true voices within the movement, without labels or prejudice.

The film reflects that Occupiers are citizens with common bonds. They have gathered outside of political party categorization to bring attention to problems that affect us all. They are intelligent, and they are passionate. Some demonstrate with the fervor of youth, while others offer aged experience. Though of different opinions, they stand together as one voice to proclaim that change in our governing institutions is imminently necessary.

This is their story.
